Two people arrested in “Phantom Armor” operation in Northern Cyprus
During the “Phantom Armor” operation in Northern Cyprus, two men were arrested; firearms and gas weapons were seized during searches. The incident was reported by the Police Press Office.
According to the authorities, on September 19, 2025, at around 10:40 a.m. in Demirhan, teams from the Crime Prevention Department of the Lefkoşa Police Directorate found on O.G. (male, 32) a 7.65 mm pistol, two magazines, and seven 7.65 mm rounds. O.G. was arrested.
Earlier that same day, at around 07:30 a.m., Customs and Revenue Department officers, during baggage inspection upon entry into Northern Cyprus through the Girne Tourism Port, discovered on E.Ç. (male, 21) a 9 mm gas pistol, two 9 mm rounds, and two 5.57 mm rounds. E.Ç. was also arrested.
Both cases are being handled by the relevant police units. The Press Office confirmed that the seized items were taken as material evidence.
