The Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK) has issued a warning to those who have outstanding electricity bills, announcing upcoming disconnections. According to the provider, electricity for persistent non-payers will be cut off as early as Monday, October 7. Customers are urged to clear any outstanding debts to avoid disruptions.

The KIB-TEK statement noted that as part of the authority’s debt collection process, on Monday, October 7, 2024, electricity will be disconnected for all individuals and businesses whose bills were due in September 2024 or earlier and whose outstanding debt exceeds 675 TL.

Furthermore, electricity will also be disconnected for both private and commercial customers who have unpaid installments, even if they are on payment plans set up through legal agreements with the authority.

To prevent any issues with their electricity supply, subscribers are encouraged to settle their debts as soon as possible.

It’s important to note that electricity tariffs in Northern Cyprus have increased since October 1.
