Schools in the TRNC have resumed classes for the second semester

February holidays have ended in Northern Cyprus. Students have returned to their desks as the second semester begins in primary and secondary schools. The bell rang in schools under the Department of Primary Education, the Department of Secondary Education, and the Department of Vocational and Technical Education.

After the February holidays, 26,577 students in 125 public and private primary schools, under the Department of Primary Education, and 25,079 students in 48 public and private secondary schools, under the Department of Secondary Education and state educational institutions, resumed their studies. In 12 schools under the Department of Vocational and Technical Education, 3,894 students in vocational high schools are gaining knowledge.

Approximately 400 students are receiving education in apprenticeship and adult education centers.

It is worth noting that there are 6,187 teachers working in public and private schools throughout the TRNC.

The 2023-2024 academic year in primary schools under the Department of Primary Education will conclude with the issuance of progress reports and completion certificates on Friday, June 14.

The 2023-2024 academic year in secondary education and vocational-technical education departments will conclude with the issuance of progress reports on Tuesday, June 11. Entrance exams will take place from June 12 to June 21.

Applications for participation in vocational high school programs from students who have completed the 8th grade will be received from June 20 to June 25, and those who will be enrolled in the 9th grade of vocational high schools will be announced on Wednesday, June 26.
