University Entrance Exam Applications Open in Northern Cyprus
Applications for the 2025 university entrance exams (YKS) have officially opened in Northern Cyprus. Candidates can submit their applications until March 3, while the exams are scheduled to take place on June 21–22.
The announcement was made by Bayram Ali Ersoy, President of Turkey’s Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).
The YKS exam schedule is as follows:
- June 21 (Saturday): Basic Proficiency Test (TYT)
- June 22 (Sunday, morning): Field Proficiency Test (AYT)
- June 22 (Sunday, afternoon): Foreign Language Test (YDT)
Candidates can apply through ÖSYM application centers, the official website (ais.osym.gov.tr), or the ÖSYM Candidate Transactions mobile app.

Additionally, candidates applying for the 2025 National Defense University Student Selection Exam (2025-MSÜ) must also register for the 2025-YKS to be considered for placement by the Ministry of National Defense.
Earlier, it was also announced that applications for the entrance exam at Near East University in Northern Cyprus are now open. The deadline for submission is May 23, and registration is conducted online.
