Contract Signed for Repair of Dağyolu Mountain Road in TRNC
In Northern Cyprus, a contract has been signed for the reconstruction of the Dağyolu mountain road. The route is expected to be operational within the next 30 days.
The contract for the road repair was signed between the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation and Salih Köroğlu Construction Ltd, the company awarded the tender for 9 million Turkish liras.
According to the signed contract, the contractor will commence work this week. The road renovation project will cover a 3.2 km stretch from the Pınarbaşı exit to the Dağyolu intersection on the Pınarbaşı-Shirinevler road.
As part of the project, the existing asphalt will be removed and replaced with new asphalt. Damaged sections will be patched, and the road itself will be widened to four meters.
Transport Minister Erhan Arıklı stated that the Dağyolu road, also known as the FOTA road, which has been neglected for a long time, will be repaired and reopened in its renewed form within 30 days.
