In the TRNC, a "Disaster Park" will be built
In Alsancak, Northern Cyprus, a "Disaster Park" will be constructed. The project will be implemented within the framework of a protocol signed between the municipality of Kyrenia-Alsancak and the Association for Search and Rescue in Natural Disasters (DAAK).
The protocol on cooperation in the field of natural disasters between the municipality of Kyrenia-Alsancak and the Association for Search and Rescue in Natural Disasters (DAAK) was signed after the earthquake in Turkey on February 6. As part of the continued collaboration, another agreement was signed the day before, which marked the first step towards the implementation of the "Disaster Park" project in Alsancak.
The first "Disaster Park" in Northern Cyprus aims to increase the knowledge and awareness of the TRNC population, especially children and youth, about natural disasters, as well as to train them in actions during emergencies such as earthquakes, fires, or floods.
The construction and management of the park will be carried out by the Association for Search and Rescue in Natural Disasters.
It is expected that the construction of the park will begin in the near future. It will include training grounds for dealing with all major natural disasters.
