On September 9, 2025, under the coordination of the Ministry of Interior of the TRNC, a broad technical meeting was held on the development and implementation of the "Migration Management System" and related software. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, the Directorate of Migration under the General Directorate of Police, as well as representatives of the Directorate of Migration Affairs of Turkey and the company Türksat, the ministry reported.

According to the Minister of Interior, Dursun Oğuz, the new digital platform is intended to provide a modern, fast, and transparent infrastructure for migration and immigration procedures. He noted that the integration of data between agencies would allow for the prompt execution of necessary actions and reduce the state’s time and financial costs.

The meeting discussed the system’s technical architecture, software integration, data security issues, inter-agency coordination, staff training programs, and improved services for citizens. The implementation schedule of digital solutions was also examined in detail.

For the residents of Northern Cyprus, this means a gradual transition to centralized electronic procedures: reducing the number of personal visits to institutions, speeding up the review of applications, and increasing process transparency. The specific timeline for the phased launch of the system will be announced additionally after the completion of testing and the agreement on technical stages, the ministry clarified.
