Over 50,000 Units of Donated Blood Collected in the TRNC Over Seven Years
In 2024, the Cyprus-Turkish Red Crescent organized a total of 240 blood donation events across the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), collecting 5,193 units of blood from local donors.
The organization highlighted a significant increase in the number of civilian donors, with a 59% rise in donations this year. Additionally, the proportion of regular donors reached an impressive 82%.
Notably, the participation of women in blood donation increased by 121% compared to the previous year, accounting for 10% of all donors.
The Cyprus-Turkish Red Crescent continues its vital humanitarian work through the "Blood Donor Recruitment Project," which has been carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Turkish Red Crescent since 2017.
Over the past seven years, 2,102 blood donation events have been held nationwide, leading to the collection of a total of 53,513 units of blood.
