TRNC Releases First Horror Film Created Using Artificial Intelligence
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has produced its first-ever full-length horror film, completely crafted with the help of artificial intelligence. The premiere of Whisper Hill is scheduled for May.
According to Cypriot-Turkish director Müge Günay, the film is based on a real-life event that took place in the TRNC. Günay claims this is the first and longest horror film in history created entirely using AI.
The director's statement also emphasizes that the film aims to provide a fresh take on the future of the film industry.
— "Cinema lovers who experience the creative power of AI and its influence on filmmaking will also be in for a unique experience in the horror genre with this innovative film," says Günay.
Müge Günay is also known for her short film In the Shadow of the Cedar, which was featured at the International Asian Film Festival (AFC) in Kolkata, India, in 2017. The film addresses the migration of Turkish Cypriots due to an international embargo.
