First International Powerlifting Championship Held in the TRNC

The TRNC Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation has organized the country’s first-ever International Powerlifting Championship, with athletes from seven countries taking part.

The championship kicked off on Tuesday at the Girne Uptown Büyük Anadolu Hotel and will run until Friday.

According to Mustafa Sütcü, Director of the Department of Sports, this tournament has already "made history as the first international powerlifting competition held in the country." The Federation also stated that the event "will create a sensation on the international stage, opening new doors in the history of the sport."
