Weekend Festivals Canceled Across Northern Cyprus Due to Bad Weather
All festivals scheduled to take place in Northern Cyprus over the weekend were canceled due to adverse weather conditions. New dates for the events will be announced in due course.
The postponement of several Sunday festivals was confirmed on social media by Lefke Tourism Association President Hasan Karlıtaş.
Among the canceled events were Eco Day in Bağlıköy, the Artichoke Festival in Mormenekşe, the Archaeology Festival in Kaleburnu, and the Akdeniz Ayrelli Mediterranean Festival. Organizers cited poor weather forecasts as the reason for the cancellations.
All of these events have been postponed until further notice.
Earlier on Saturday, meteorologists had issued a storm warning, with predictions of strong winds, thunderstorms with hail, and a heightened risk of flooding in certain areas.
