International Children's Day to be Celebrated in Northern Cyprus Over the Weekend

This weekend, Northern Cyprus will commemorate International Children's Day with festivities in Kyrenia and the municipality of Gönyeli-Alayköy.

In Kyrenia, celebrations for Children's Day on June 1 will kick off in front of the Old Town Hall at Ramadan Cemil Square, starting at 10:30 a.m. and continuing throughout the day.

The schedule includes a violin and piano concert by the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society at 11:00 a.m., followed by a folk dance show by Nisan Elementary School No. 23 at 11:45 a.m. At 12:15 p.m., there will be a modern dance performance by Karaoglanoglu Elementary School, followed by a presentation from the folklore ensemble of Mustafa Chagatay Elementary School at 12:45 p.m.

Activities will resume at 1:15 p.m. with a dance show tailored for the youngest attendees by the "Young Art Lovers." At 2:30 p.m., there will be a performance by the Hasan Jafer Elementary School group. The folk dance ensemble of Kafer Elementary School and magician Anıl Gökçül will take the stage at 3:00 p.m.

At 4:00 p.m., Bubu and Fiyu will present a juggling show, followed by active games organized by the Meritta Kids Club at 4:30 p.m. The ballet and dance show "Happy Land" will enchant audiences at 5:15 p.m., and the Middle Eastern Dance School will perform at 5:30 p.m.

The festivities will culminate with a choir performance by Oguz Veli Middle School at 6:00 p.m., followed by an acrobatics and juggling show by Bubu and Fiyu at 7:00 p.m.

Additionally, the municipality of Gönyeli-Alayköy will host its annual children's festival in honor of Children's Day.

The celebrations began with a procession on May 30 and continued today, May 31, with the opening of a children's park on Damla Street in the Gönyeli-Alayköy municipality.

On Saturday, June 1, the Gönyeli-Alayköy Belediye Boulevard will host the Kite Festival and the "Enikent" Shopping Festival. In the evening, there will be special concerts and events for children. The children's festival will continue in Alayköy on July 2.
