Orchid Festival to Take Place in Hisarköy This Weekend
The 12th annual Orchid Festival will be held in Hisarköy, Northern Cyprus, on March 1–2. Organized in collaboration with the Lapta-Alsancak-Çamlıbel Municipality, Hisarköy Municipality, and the Hisarköy Culture and Sports Association, the festival aims to celebrate and protect Cyprus’s endemic orchid species.
This year’s festival will focus on raising awareness and promoting the conservation of orchids unique to the island.
"The goal of this annual event is to highlight the incredible diversity of orchids and ensure this natural heritage is preserved for future generations," organizers stated.
Festival Program
Saturday, March 1
- 10:00 AM – Orchid Walk
- 1:00 PM – Festival Opening Ceremony
- Folklore performances, craft workshops, and food stalls throughout the day
- 1:30 PM – Concert by Baria
- 3:30 PM – Concert by Serdal Tuksal
Sunday, March 2
- 9:00 AM – Stalls Open
- 10:00 AM – Orchid Walk
- 1:00 PM – Authentic Local Music Performance
- 3:30 PM – Concert
Throughout the festival, a handicraft exhibition will be open at the village administration building.
A Tradition of Orchid Festivals
Orchid festivals are a long-standing tradition in Northern Cyprus, held annually in various regions. This year, the 13th Annual Orchid Valley Walk is also set to take place on Sunday, March 9.
