Vice President of Turkey, Cevdet Yılmaz, Arrives in TRNC
The Vice President of the Turkish Republic, Cevdet Yılmaz, arrived in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) today for a one-day visit. He will participate in the opening ceremony of the largest mosque on the island, Suat Günsel Mosque.
During his trip to Northern Cyprus, the politician will be accompanied by the Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey, Mehmet Fatih Kacır.
As part of the visit, the minister will meet with the head of the Ministry of Economy and Energy of the TRNC, Olgun Amcaoğlu, and also visit the production facilities of the first TRNC electric car, Günsel, and the scientific center in Nicosia.
It is worth noting that the grand opening ceremony of Suat Günsel Mosque will take place today, January 11, on the campus of the Near East University in Nicosia.
The foundation of the mosque was laid in 2013, and it took 10 years for its construction. The mosque can accommodate about 10,000 people for prayer simultaneously.
In addition to the delegation from Turkey, representatives from many Muslim countries will be present at the event.
After the mosque's opening ceremony, Cevdet Yılmaz will meet with citizens in the Mesaoria region and then leave the island.
