Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz is set to visit the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) once again. During his upcoming trip, he will assess preparations for TEKNOFEST—the major aviation, space, and technology festival—and inspect progress on the construction of the new presidential complex.

Yılmaz’s visit was discussed during a high-level consultation meeting held yesterday at the Presidential Palace, chaired by TRNC President Ersin Tatar. Speaking at the meeting, Tatar confirmed that the Vice President is expected to arrive on the island on April 10.

The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, and the Turkish Ambassador to the TRNC, Murat Başçeri.

As previously announced, TEKNOFEST—the world’s largest festival dedicated to aviation, space, and technology—will be held in Northern Cyprus for the first time this year. The event is scheduled to take place from May 1 to 4 at the old Ercan Airport. It is being organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) under the patronage of the TRNC Presidency.

President Tatar noted that excitement around the event is already building, with more than 15,000 teams and 47,000 individuals having submitted applications to take part. The festival will feature aerial displays and competitions in innovative technologies.

Tatar expressed his gratitude to the organizers for their commitment to bringing TEKNOFEST to Northern Cyprus, and thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and all the relevant authorities for their support in the decision to build new facilities for the Presidency, Parliament, and a National Garden in the TRNC.
