Lover Called 112 and Asked… to Bring a Cake — Got a Fine

In Turkey, a resident of Muğla decided to "share happiness" on Valentine’s Day and called the emergency service 112. The man told the operator that he was very happy with his girlfriend and asked if the service could somehow "participate" in their joy — for example, by bringing a cake.
The operator asked if there was an emergency. Receiving a negative answer, the call was ended as a false and unjustified alert.
Later, the man was fined 1,882 Turkish lira for the unjustified use of the emergency line.
The authorities reminded that the 112 number is intended exclusively for cases involving threats to life and health. False calls can delay help for those who really need it.
The 112 service added wryly:
“Love is wonderful, but 112 is a serious line. You don’t need to call here for a racing heart from romance.”
