TURKISH NAVY IS CREATING A NEW MILITARY BASE NEAR ISKELE
The Turkish Navy will be stationed at a new naval base to be built in Iskele. This was stated by the Commander of the Navy of the Republic of Turkey, Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu.
According to the commander, the Navy will be stationed there at the established base on a permanent basis. According to Kibris Postasi, this means that the Turkish Navy will directly “form a fighting force” in the TRNC.
- We are building a new naval base in the northeast of Famagusta in Cyprus. The Turkish naval forces will be permanently stationed there, the publication quotes the military commander as saying.
Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu also noted that the number of naval ships in Greece is now almost the same as in Turkey, despite the fact that it was much smaller in the past.
The commander also mentioned sending Turkish ships to the vicinity of Libya and said that since the start of the fight against illegal migration, the number of immigrants in the country has decreased by 98%.
