Eastern Mediterranean University and the Chamber of Civil Engineers signed a protocol on the 4th Seminar
The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) and the Union of Turkish Cypriot Engineers and Architects (KTMMOB) — Chamber of Civil Engineers (İMO) signed a protocol on the preparation of the 4th National Seminar on Civil Engineering. The signing took place on September 30, 2025, at 13:30 in the Rector’s Office of EMU in Northern Cyprus.
The document was signed by EMU Rector Professor Dr. Hasan Kılıç and İMO President Associate Professor Dr. Abdullah Ekinci. Also present at the signing were Professor Dr. Khaled Hamed Marar from the EMU Faculty of Engineering, İMO Board Members Associate Professor Dr. Ayşe Pekrioğlu Balkıs and Nüset İlktug, as well as Organizing Committee member Dr. Hamza Said.
The aim of the protocol is to promote the development of the civil engineering profession, strengthen cooperation between academia and industry, and enrich the country’s engineering community. The protocol states that the 4th National Seminar will host national and international participants, and will provide for the transfer of accumulated academic knowledge to industry.
Rector Hasan Kılıç noted the strengthening of relations between EMU and İMO and the intention to make a scientific contribution to the construction sector. Associate Professor Abdullah Ekinci emphasized the importance of cooperation with the country’s leading university and the international character of the upcoming event.
