Young Gymnast from TRNC Brings Home First International Medal
A young gymnast from the TRNC has made history. Fatma Nida Toko secured third place in the individual competition at a championship in Turkey, earning the country’s first-ever gymnastics medal from an international event.
According to the TRNC Gymnastics Federation, the young athlete delivered an "exceptional performance" at the championship.
In addition to her overall success, Fatma Nida Toko was named the best in her age category (born in or after 2015). Another gymnast from the TRNC, Aslı Aslı, also competed, finishing 16th overall and 9th in her age group.
The TRNC team and the athletes expressed their gratitude to Federation President Hasan Sapsızoğlu, Vice President Basri Aydoğan, the Federation's management, and the main sponsors for their continued support.
