First Stage of College Entrance Exams to Take Place in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Tomorrow

On Saturday, January 25, the first stage of college entrance exams will be held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. A total of 2,258 candidates are expected to take part in these exams, which will be conducted in two stages across eight educational institutions.

According to the Ministry of Education and Discipline, the exams will take place at the following colleges: Türk Maarif Koleji, 19 Mayıs TMK, Gazimağusa TMK, Güzelyurt TMK, İskele Evkaf Türk Maarif Koleji, Bekirpaşa Lisesi, Hala Sultan İlahiyat Koleji, and Lefke Gazi Lisesi.

The first session will run from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by the second session from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Of the 2,258 registered candidates, the applications are distributed as follows: 480 students for Türk Maarif Koleji, 447 for 19 Mayıs TMK, 436 for İskele Evkaf Türk Maarif Koleji, 335 for Güzelyurt TMK, 255 for Gazimağusa TMK, 75 for Lefke Gazi Lisesi, and 230 for Hala Sultan İlahiyat Koleji.

The entrance exam will consist of five subjects: Turkish Language, Science and Technology, Social Studies, English Language, and Mathematics.

Each exam will be overseen by committees of experts and experienced educators in their respective fields. The exam question booklets will be printed at the Ministry’s printing center under the supervision of senior officials 48 hours before the exam. On the day of the exam, the booklets will be delivered to the exam centers, accompanied by supervisors.

Once the exams are complete, the question booklets and answer keys will be published on the official Ministry website, www.mebnet.net. The results are expected to be announced later that evening after the answer sheets are scanned using optical readers.

The second stage of the entrance exams (KGS-2) is scheduled for Saturday, June 14.

Based on the total scores from both tests, students will be eligible to register for colleges for the 2025-2026 academic year, according to the available quotas and the ranking lists, which will be based on the entrance exam results.
