TRNC Residents Warned About Fake Kıb-Tek Websites
Fake websites of the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK) have emerged in Northern Cyprus. The energy authority is warning users to be cautious of scammers.
According to the organization's statement, the fake websites were created “for fraudulent purposes by copying the appearance of the Kıb-Tek website."
Users are urged to verify the authenticity of the resources where they make payments.
"Some sites were created for fraudulent purposes by placing advertisements in the Google search engine and copying the appearance of our website. Do not trust such resources and check the address of the page where you will make the payment,” the notification says.
It is noted that complaints about the identified fake resources have already been filed with the relevant authorities.
The Kıb-Tek statement provides a link to the official payment website of the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority.
