Rainy Friday in Store for Northern Cyprus
Get your umbrellas ready—residents of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) can expect a rainy start to the weekend.
According to the TRNC Department of Meteorology, Friday, May 2, will bring a drop in atmospheric pressure, along with cool and humid air in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Forecasters are predicting cloudy skies, thunderstorms, and heavy downpours throughout the day.
Temperatures are expected to fall 4 to 6°C below the seasonal average, with most areas seeing daytime highs between 18°C and 24°C. Winds will be moderate from the southwest, occasionally picking up to strong gusts. The good news: there are no active weather warnings in place for today.

• Northern Coast:
Girne – 21°C, Lapta – 20°C, Akdeniz – 21°C, Alevkaya – 18°C, Esentepe – 20°C
• Western Coast:
Lefke – 22°C, Güzelyurt – 24°C
• Central Region:
Lefkoşa (Nicosia) – 24°C, Ercan – 24°C
• Eastern Coast:
Gazimağusa – 23°C, Iskele – 23°C
• Karpaz Peninsula:
Yenierenkoy – 21°C
