Ziya Öztürkler opened the “Republic” exhibition at Near East University in Northern Cyprus
Chairman of the Assembly of the Republic Ziya Öztürkler opened the “Republic” exhibition on October 31, 2025, organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Near East University in Northern Cyprus.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the republic and presents selected works from various artistic disciplines. In his speech, Öztürkler emphasized that “art is the nation’s respect for its past and its faith in its future.”
He noted that the republic is not just a form of government, but a symbol of the people’s will for independence and freedom, and that art is one of the powerful means of expressing this will. Öztürkler stated that there is a shared responsibility to preserve republican values and pass them on to future generations.
According to the organizers, the exhibition reflects cultural memory from the past to the present and includes works by young artists who make a significant contribution to this memory. During the opening, the unifying role of art and its contribution to strengthening social solidarity were highlighted.
After cutting the ribbon, the Chairman of the Assembly toured the exhibition, spoke with the artists, and thanked the participants and organizers.
