The process of obtaining a student residence permit is a mandatory procedure for students enrolled in associate, undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral programs in higher educational institutions of TRNC, allowing them to legally reside in the country throughout their studies.

To begin the residence permit application, you must have active student status. For this reason, you must register at the university within a maximum of 2 months from the date of entry into the country. At the time of registration, your status on the island must be legal.

Step-by-Step Guide to Obtaining a Visa

  1. Register at the university as a student. You can find out how to do this on your university's website.
  2. After registering at the university, begin the residence permit application via this link.
  3. Register in the system and create your account. Make sure the information you provide matches the information you submitted to the university.
  4. You will receive a user code and password via email or mobile phone after providing the necessary personal details.
  5. With the user code and password, you can access the Residence Permit page.
  6. After logging in, select the desired visa duration (6 months or 1 year).
  7. Once you select the visa duration, the system will move you to the next step: medical procedures.
  8. A blood sample must be submitted to the laboratory specified in the system within 1 week. If you exceed this deadline, you will need to repeat all previous steps.
  9. Wait for approval from the Ministry of Health.
  10. Proceed to Step 3, "Procedures at the Tax Office," once your medical report is approved by the Ministry of Health.
  11. Complete the tax payment and wait for approval from the Tax Office.
  12. After obtaining approval from the Tax Office, the system will take you to Step 4 - Immigration Office approval.
  13. The residence permit application will be completed once the Immigration Office approves all previous steps.
