Description
Rauf Denktas University (RDU) was named after the founder and long-serving president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Mr. Rauf Raif Denktaş, who distinguished himself as an accomplished lawyer, organizer, human rights leader, and political activist. RDU was established to preserve and pass down to younger generations Mr. Denktaş’s legacy and ideas regarding the economic, social, educational, religious, and cultural rights of minorities, human dignity, self-determination, and peaceful coexistence among different peoples. Accordingly, RDU aims to be a university of choice with its excellent teaching and research faculty as well as its facilities. It strives to provide high-quality education that enables its graduates to be internationally employable and to contribute, through research, to solving local and global issues.
