Agios Nikandros Picnic Area
This is a relatively compact green area with an equipped picnic spot. It is located on a small hill near the sea to the west of Ayia Napa.
Here, among the greenery, anyone can take advantage of the covered pavilions with views of the sea and the nearby beaches.
How the place became a forest park
The Cyprus Department of Forests granted this area national forest park status in 2020. The Ayia Napa municipality then joined in the development of the area.
Now, there are resting areas with wooden tables and benches, walking paths, and a small viewing platform for visitors.
What’s nearby
Directly on the sides of the hill, which is the park, there are two beaches: Landa to the west and Latchi to the east. Also, a bit further behind these recreational zones are two more well-known beaches: Macronissos and Nissi.

Where can I park near the park?
One parking lot is located right on the road leading to Ayia Napa, parallel to the A3 highway (here: 34.98855658481541, 33.96260627153258). After that, there is a dirt road, at the end of which there is another parking lot: 34.98657051637207, 33.961534531686034. Both are free.
Can I camp here?
No, camping is prohibited in this area, as indicated by a sign at the entrance to the picnic zone with pavilions (shown in the photo above). Although a tent is visible in the photo, it is not prohibited to set it up for sun protection during the day.
Is the park open all year round?
Yes, the park is open for visits at any time of the year. The entrance is free.
Should I bring water with me?
The park has a water source (shown in the photo below), but just to be safe, we recommend bringing bottled drinking water with you.
