General Information

The beach is located just 20 minutes from the center of Limassol and only 5 minutes from the village of Parekklisia, which lies slightly inland from the coast.

This location makes Malindi less accessible for tourists without a car and, accordingly, not very crowded.

Thanks to its sandy beach and a variety of activities both in the water and on land, it becomes an ideal choice for families as well as for those who prefer relaxation and quality food.

Beach Name

Besides Malindi, the beach is also known by the name of one of the nearby hotels — St Raphael. The beach is also referred to by the name of the village — Parekklisia. Although the village is located several kilometers north of the coast, the beach is administratively part of it.

The name of the village comes from the Byzantine Church of the Holy Cross, which was built by residents of neighboring villages (Kellaki, Eptagoneia, Sanida) who came to this area to grow grains. It is also possible that the name is a variation of Paliokliso or Panoklissia, mentioned on Venetian maps and in settlements near the modern village.

This is an organized beach, featuring showers, sunbeds and umbrellas, premium sun loungers, as well as amenities for people with disabilities and some of the most modern facilities for water sports and water games.

Malindi Beach Bar, located on the western end of the beach, is known for its cuisine and delicious cocktails, making it a popular spot all year round.

The shallow waters stretching far from the shore allow families with small children to enjoy the sea safely. Near the marina of the St Raphael hotel, visitors can find many water sports options, and there are also areas for beach volleyball.

Several beach tennis courts are located near the parking area, which also serves as the starting point of a coastal promenade that connects neighboring beaches.

From April to October, lifeguards are on duty at the beach with rescue and first aid equipment.
