Brief Information and Features
Millomeris Waterfalls — the tallest and one of the most picturesque waterfalls in Cyprus. Its height reaches 15 meters, making it taller than the popular Caledonia Waterfall. Thanks to the Kryos Potamos River (“Cold Water”), the waterfall does not dry up even in summer and remains a cool refuge in the Troodos Mountains.
The name “Millomeris” translates as “wet place”, although there is also a version that it originated from an old mill that once stood near the waterfall.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit is winter and spring (January–April), when the mountain streams are fullest, and the waterfall looks especially impressive. In summer the water does not disappear, but it is less; however, it is a great spot for swimming and relaxing in the shade when the coast reaches +40 °C.

During peak season (summer, weekends), it can be crowded with entire tour groups visiting. To avoid the crowd, it is better to come in the morning on a weekday.
Route and Trail
The Millomeris Waterfall Trail starts at the eastern edge of the village of Pano Platres:
- Trail length — about 1.2 km;
- Walking time — 30–45 minutes one way;
- Difficulty — easy, suitable for most visitors, but comfortable sneakers or trekking shoes are needed.

The trail is well maintained: there are handrails and steps on steep sections, small bridges across the river, and benches and trash bins every 300 meters. Along the way, you may encounter pines, cypresses, wildflowers, squirrels, hares, chameleons, and even golden eagles. At the base of the waterfall, a natural cold-water pool forms, where people swim in summer.
How to Get There
- By car: from Limassol — 45–50 minutes. You can leave your car at the “Millomeris Waterfalls Trail” sign and walk down the trail about 200 meters. The parking is small and busy in season, so some tourists leave their cars on the roadside.
- By bus: buses № 62 and № 64 run from Limassol to Platres, then 15 minutes on foot or by taxi. Schedules change by season; check on CyBuses.com.
- On a tour: the waterfall is included in Troodos tours along with the villages of Platres, Kakopetria, and Caledonia Waterfall.
- By taxi: convenient for door-to-door travel, especially if you plan to taste local wine in Platres. It is better to order through official services — for example, Kiwi Taxi or via apps.
Tips for Tourists
- Take water, snacks, and a hat.
- On rainy days, the trail may be slippery.
- For photos, the best time is morning.
- In summer, bring a swimsuit to swim in the pool at the waterfall.
