Time change in Cyprus — summer and winter time
Cyprus observes seasonal time changes, just like most European countries. Despite its mild climate and many sunny days, the island follows the pan-European rules for switching to summer and winter time.

Switching to winter time
The switch to winter time in Cyprus takes place on the last Sunday of October. In 2026, the clock change will occur on the night of October 24–25.
At 04:00 AM, the clocks are set one hour back, making the time 03:00. This means the night becomes one hour longer.
After the switch, it gets dark earlier, especially during the winter months, which is important to consider when planning trips and activities.
Switching to summer time
Cyprus switches to summer time on the last Sunday of March. In 2026, this will happen on the night of March 28–29.
At 03:00 AM, the clocks are set forward to 04:00, making the day longer. This is particularly noticeable in spring and summer, when daylight extends to 14–15 hours.
The switch to summer time traditionally coincides with the start of the tourist season and affects transportation schedules, office hours, and tours.
Important: the working hours of government offices, banks, and schools in Cyprus may differ during the winter and summer periods.
