Anatoly Beliy & Arnold Giskin: Part of Life
Anatoly Bely returns to Cyprus accompanied by saxophonist Arnold Giskin to present a new musical and poetic programme, Part of Life.
‘Part of Life’ is a unique synthesis of poetry and music, a concert for voice and saxophone that takes the audience into a world of deep emotion and reflection.
Poems by great poets of the 20th century - Osip Mandelstam, Boris Pasternak, Joseph Brodsky, as well as contemporary authors - Zhenya Berkovich and Ali Khaitlina - will be performed on stage. Each word comes to life accompanied by saxophone improvisations, creating a magical unity of sound and meaning.
This programme is a kind of jazz jam-session, where words and music complement and enhance each other, turning the performance into an emotional action.
‘Part of Life’ is a conversation about the times we live in, about us and our experiences. Each theme, be it lyrics, reflections on modernity or sketches of nature, is revealed in full emotional depth.
