“I always said that fate is a game.
Why do we need fish if we have caviar?
I am sitting by the window. There is an aspen outside the window.
I have loved few. However, I loved them very much.”

Joseph Brodsky

Joseph Brodsky was a poet and a man who always lived in spite of. Recognized by many, he was never able to return to his homeland. But he left us poems in which life, no matter how difficult it may be, is always worth fighting for to the last.

Joseph Brodsky’s Evening is poetry on edge, lined with biography and music. The figure of one of the main poets of the 20th century looks different for each reader.

Actor Andrei Martynov, accompanied by Marina Rud on piano, will present his Brodsky: a man as talented as he is lonely.

Andrei Martynov is a theater and film actor. Graduate of the Moscow Theatre School of Oleg Tabakov. Worked at the Tabakov Theatre, the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre, and from 2018 to 2024 was a leading actor at the M.N. Ermolova Theatre, where he performed in productions such as “Look Back in Anger,” “Peer Gynt,” “Macbeth,” “Master Servant,” “(NOT) Ideal CHE,” “Invitation to a Beheading,” and others.

Winner of the Lobanov Prize for the role of Jimmy in the play “Look Back in Anger.”
