Banana Festival

Who says bananas can only thrive in tropical and subtropical climates? In Cyprus, the regions of Kissonerga and Pegeia in the Pafos district provide an ideal subtropical environment for banana cultivation. This year, Kissonerga is set to celebrate its prized fruit in style with the exciting Banana Festival.

This vibrant event promises delightful cultural experiences with walks to the nearby archaeological sites of Mosfilia and Skalia, banana plantations and the ruins of the Saints Zinaida and Filonilli church.

Indulge in a culinary adventure with delicious treats, from fresh and dried bananas to yummy sweets and banana-based drinks such as juices, liqueurs and cocktails.

Guests will be delighted by the array of vibrant stalls selling traditional food and desserts such as palouzes (grape juice mixed with flour), resi (coarsely wheat boiled in meat broth) and freshly baked breads.
