O MOYNIS

DENTRO THEATRE presents Lena Kitsopoulou's iconic short story "The Mounis" in an innovative theatrical adaptation, directed by Kostas Silvestros.

The play, based on the collection "Great Roads", reveals the dark aspects of life in a Greek village, where the inhabitants diligently hide their secrets behind nicknames and fake smiles. Through a series of extreme and violent incidents, Kitsopoulou portrays the pathologies of provincial society with bitter humour.

The director Kostas Silvestros chooses a special approach, turning the theatre space into a surrealistic fair. The spectators witness the events, while the actors occupy the audience's seats. This inversion aims to make the audience complicit in the silence that covers the crimes of the community.

The show balances between abstract narrative and grotesque representation, with a comedic tone predominating.

An excellent cast of actors bring the play's complex characters to life. Movement and music play a key role, transforming traditional revelry into nightmarish images of immorality and violence.

Kostas Silvestros, well acquainted with Lena Kitsopoulou's style, brings the author's unique world to the stage. The performance aspires to be a "spell" for the pathologies of modern society, highlighting how topical the stories of "Muni" remain.

"The Moon" promises an unforgettable theatrical experience that will reflect, shock and entertain the audience, revealing the darker aspects of human nature.
