Pomegranate Festival in Ormideia

This year the festival celebrates its anniversary — 20 years of history — and has become one of Cyprus’ main cultural events. Ormidia has been known for its pomegranates since the 1930s — they were exported outside the island, and today the village takes pride in its harvests and traditions.
What awaits the guests:
- festive parade through the village streets;
- Cypriot music and dances performed by Christos Isidorou, Angeliki Chatzivasiliou, Theofanis Theofanous and the dance groups of Ormidia;
- grand concert with HOVIG and Markella Chatzimisi.
Gastronomy: stalls with pomegranate juice, cocktails, liqueurs, jams, loukoumi, palouzes and soutzoukos in rare pomegranate versions.
Beyond food and music — workshops, entertainment for children and adults, and the opportunity to try traditional crafts.
The festival is held under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Maria Panayiotou.
This is not just a harvest celebration, but a living experience of Cypriot culture, flavors, and traditions.
