program for two pianos
As part of the cultural program of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU CY2026.EU, pianists Manolis Neophytou and Mariola Charitidou present a vibrant program for two pianos — a musical journey through the national dances of Europe.
The program includes:
— “Hungarian Dances” — Johannes Brahms
— “Slavic Dances” — Antonín Dvořák
— “Italian Polka” — Sergei Rachmaninoff
— “Libertango” — Astor Piazzolla
Rhythm, virtuosity, and passion will unite Hungarian and Slavic motifs, the brilliant Russian school, and the sensuality of Argentine tango nuevo. These concerts emphasize the role of music as a bridge between cultures and showcase Cyprus's artistic dynamics within the European context.
