Stormy Winds, Thunderstorms, and Hail Expected in Cyprus on March 19
The Meteorology Department of the Republic of Cyprus has issued a weather alert for stormy conditions on Tuesday, March 19, as a weak low-pressure system and cold air masses settle over the island.
The morning will be mostly cloudy, with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms moving from the western half of the island to other regions later in the day. Some storms may bring hail, while the highest peaks of the Troodos Mountains could see sleet. Temperatures are expected to reach around 20°C inland, 18-23°C along the coast, and 5°C in the mountains.
By evening and overnight, skies will remain partly to mostly cloudy, with scattered rain in some areas and snowfall in the higher elevations. Temperatures will drop to around 6°C inland, 8°C along the coast, and as low as -4°C in the mountains, where frost is expected.
Thursday will be colder, with mostly cloudy skies and occasional rain and snowfall in the mountains. Temperatures will drop significantly below the seasonal average but are expected to return to normal by Saturday.
