Rainy Weather Continues in Cyprus, with Snow in the Mountains
According to the Meteorology Department of the Republic of Cyprus, weak high pressure will remain over the region on Thursday, February 27. However, starting tomorrow, a temporary low-pressure system will move in, bringing more unstable conditions.
This morning, cloud cover may increase in some areas, leading to scattered showers along the northern coast. As the day progresses, skies will be partly cloudy, with isolated rain showers, particularly in the mountains. Light snowfall is also possible on the highest peaks of the Troodos Mountains.
Today's Temperatures:
Inland & Coastal Areas: Around 17°C
Mountainous Regions: Around 6°C
Tonight, most areas will experience mostly clear skies with some patches of cloud cover. However, scattered showers are expected in the western half of the island.
Overnight, temperatures will drop to around 4°C inland, 6-8°C along the coast, and close to 0°C in the mountains, where frost is expected in some areas.
As of the latest update, the snow depth at Chionistra is 2 cm.
Looking Ahead:
Friday: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Hail is possible during storms, and the highest peaks of Troodos may see more snowfall.
Weekend: Temperatures will remain stable until Friday, but a significant warm-up is expected by Sunday.
