Rain, Hail, and Snow Expected in Cyprus on February 28
A moderate low-pressure system will affect Cyprus on Friday, February 28, bringing rain, thunderstorms, and even snow in the mountains, according to the Republic of Cyprus Meteorology Department.
The first half of the day will be partly cloudy, with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Some storms may bring hail, while the highest peaks of the Troodos Mountains are expected to see snowfall.
Daytime temperatures will reach around 17°C inland, 18°C along the coast, and 7°C in the mountains.
By evening, cloud cover will increase across most areas, with isolated showers likely, especially along the coast.
Nighttime temperatures will drop to around 6°C inland, 8°C on the coast, and close to 1°C in the mountains, where frost may persist in some areas. As of the latest weather bulletin, snow depth at Mount Chionistra stood at 2 cm.
The weekend will bring partly cloudy skies, with a chance of showers around midday and early morning, particularly in mountainous areas.
By Sunday, temperatures will rise slightly above seasonal averages. No major changes are expected on Monday.
