65,000 Cypriot families will receive holiday payments: who will get money and how much in December?

In December, around 65,000 Cypriot families will receive additional financial support for Christmas and New Year. The total budget for the holiday payments exceeds 17 million euros, the deputy minister of social welfare announced.
Additional funds will be distributed among several categories of recipients:
- Families receiving GMI and state aid – a one-time payment amounting to 80% of the basic needs defined by the guaranteed minimum income system.
- Pensioners with low income – a bonus equal to their December allowance, but not less than 100 euros.
- Recipients of the honorary allowance for mothers of large families, families with three children and large families, as well as single-parent families – an additional 100 euros.
To ensure the support arrives before the holidays, social services moved the payments to mid-December:
- 10 December – child benefit, payments to single-parent families, and monthly allowance for World War II veterans and widows;
- 12 December – GMI (ΕΕΕ) and state aid;
- 15 December – emergency assistance;
- 16 December – allowances for low-income pensioners, mothers of large families, people with severe mobility disabilities, blind individuals, and those receiving transport cost compensation;
