To use internet services in the EU, you will now need to install a special application for age verification.

All internet users in the EU will be required to use a special application for age verification. Without it, access to many websites may be restricted.
These measures will come into effect on July 1, 2025, to protect minors from harmful online content.
The application will allow users to confirm their age without having to provide personal data to each website. This is a temporary solution until the introduction of a pan-European digital ID, which is expected by the end of 2026.
The new rules will apply not only to adult websites and gambling but also to many popular social networks and online services with age restrictions from 13 to 16 years old, such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), Snapchat, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
Lack of age verification may lead to limited access to features or complete account suspension.
It’s worth noting that the European Commission is already investigating companies such as Meta, TikTok, and the four largest adult content platforms for failing to adequately protect children from harmful content.
