Paid Showers Installed at Geroskipou Beach to Conserve Water
The authorities in Geroskipou have begun installing coin-operated shower cabins at the beach as part of efforts to conserve water amid growing concerns over potential shortages this summer.
The local government hopes that by introducing these coin-operated showers, they will be able to curb excessive water usage at the popular beach.
Research has shown that public showers tend to waste a significant amount of water, as many bathers leave the taps running. To address this, alongside other beach improvement projects, it was decided that installing paid showers was necessary this year.
This beach is one of the most visited in the Paphos region, attracting thousands of tourists each year.
