Tourism revenues in Cyprus in 2023 approached 3 billion euros
According to a report published by the state statistical service on Wednesday, from January to November 2023, tourism revenues in Cyprus grew to almost 3 billion euros. This is 22.5% more than the previous year.
According to the report, tourism revenues from January to November 2023 reached 2.91 billion euros. For the same period in 2022, the profit from the tourism sector was 2.38 billion euros.
In addition, this indicator for the same period exceeded the revenues of the record-breaking year for Cypriot tourism in 2019 (2.68 billion euros), thereby demonstrating the sector's sustainable recovery.
In November 2023, tourism revenues reached 113.7 million euros, an increase of 17.9% compared to November 2022.
Tourist spending per capita in November 2023 was 712.63 euros, which is 10.8% more than the 643.38 euros recorded in November 2022. These indicators indicate both an increase in the number of tourists and an increase in individual spending, which positively impacts the Cypriot tourism industry.
British tourists accounted for the largest share of the tourism market in November 2023 - 26.8% of the total number of visitors. On average, British tourists spent 71.75 euros per day during their stay.
They were followed by Polish tourists, who held the second-largest market share at 11.8%, with average daily expenses of 81.20 euros.
