Two arrested in Emba, Paphos — drug possession and trafficking
Two people were arrested in Emba, Cyprus, on Wednesday evening as a result of a coordinated police operation, the authorities reported. The operation took place shortly before 8:00 PM during the stop of a 34-year-old man approaching a parked car in Paphos.
While attempting to flee, the 18-year-old passenger threw a bag with 0.5 g of cannabis out of the window and was detained on the spot. In the car, between the seats, 52 g of cannabis and a metal grinder with plant residues were found in the driver's door compartment.
During a personal search, the 34-year-old had two bags with a total weight of 10 g of cannabis, precision scales with cannabis residues, a metal smoking device, a partially smoked cannabis cigarette, and €285. The 18-year-old had a bag with 15 g of white powder, presumably cocaine, precision scales, and €165. In total, €450 in cash was seized from the suspects.
Both suspects were arrested and remanded in custody on suspicion of illegal possession of drugs with intent to sell and money laundering. Paphos police continue the investigation.
