The Ministry of Agriculture distributed €3,198,976 among 1,311 farms affected by the fire in the Limassol district, which occurred from July 23 to 25. Payments under the first phase of the recovery program were completed on August 27 and were calculated as 100% compensation for one year of lost income.

The total amount of the recovery program is €23.5 million and includes three phases: immediate compensation, investment schemes to restart businesses, and the creation of fire and landslide prevention infrastructure. About one hundred applicants were excluded from the program after checks for non-compliance with selection criteria.

A parallel investment program, launched on August 2 and running until September 15, 2025, is intended for affected businesses outside the agricultural sector. It provides coverage of up to 80% of verified damage. According to the ministry, more than 1,000 applications have been submitted so far; on-site inspections and assessments have begun, and the first approval letters are expected in the coming days, after which advance payments of 30% are planned.

For residents of Cyprus, this means support for the recovery of local producers and businesses: affected parties are advised to submit complete documents under the investment program by September 15 and prepare for on-site inspections to speed up the receipt of the advance.
