Over 5,000 Young Players to Take Part in McDonald’s Youth Football Tournament in Ayia Napa
More than 5,000 children from 426 teams will participate in the 23rd McDonald’s Youth Football Festival in Ayia Napa. This year’s tournament will take place from April 12 to 17 across 16 specially prepared pitches located within the municipality’s sports facilities.
Ayia Napa Mayor Christos Zannettou highlighted the municipality’s ongoing support for large-scale sporting events:
“We continue to support initiatives that promote football, empower the local community, nurture young talent, and inspire children to get involved in this important sport,” he said.
Among the 426 participating teams, 81 are traveling from abroad. The tournament includes boys’ and girls’ matches for under-12s, as well as youth teams featuring players aged 13 to 17.
The McDonald’s Youth Football Tournament has been held annually in Ayia Napa since 2001, and the number of young players taking part continues to grow every year!
