The Chief Rabbi of Britain visited Cyprus for the first time
The Chief Rabbi of Britain made his inaugural visit to Cyprus, where Ephraim Mirvis visited Larnaca on Monday.
According to a statement released by the Office of the Chief Rabbi of Cyprus, the reception ceremony took place at the Jewish Museum in Larnaca. The British guest was warmly welcomed by the Chief Rabbi of Cyprus, Ari Zeev Raskin, and the Ambassador of Israel to Cyprus, Oren Anolik.
"The visit of Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis presents significant opportunities for the Jewish community of Cyprus and strengthens the enduring ties between Cyprus and the United Kingdom," the statement asserted.
Representing the municipality of Larnaca, Ephraim Mirvis was greeted by municipal council member George Lakkotrypis.
It is also emphasized that the visit of the Chief Rabbi of Britain to Cyprus "not only contributes to interfaith dialogue and cooperation but also symbolizes unity and mutual respect between communities."
