Truck Plunges into Ravine on Cyprus Highway: Driver Killed
A fatal accident occurred in Cyprus yesterday. In Nicosia, a truck plunged into a ravine, resulting in the driver's death.
According to police, the tragedy happened around 3:45 PM. A 58-year-old man was driving a truck on the Alonas-Platanistasa road. At one point, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to fall into a ravine approximately four meters adeep.
The victim, identified as Lambros Georgiou from Antoupoli, was found near the vehicle and transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital. Doctors pronounced him dead.
The Nicosia police are investigating the circumstances of the fatal accident.
