5,000 euros stolen from the office of St. Paraskevi Church in Paphos

Paphos police are investigating a burglary at a church. Unknown individuals broke into the church office and stole 5,000 euros. The suspect's wife has already been arrested.

According to the police press service, on the morning of February 3rd, the crime was reported to the Paphos police by the archimandrite who heads St. Paraskevi Church, located in Geroskipou Square. According to the priest, the church office was burglarized on February 2nd between 16:30 and 18:30. A sum of five thousand euros was stolen from it.

During the crime scene investigation, police officers found that the criminals entered the premises through the wooden window of the office, which was broken, and then left the office with the loot the same way.

Various physical pieces of evidence were seized from the scene. Yesterday evening, information was received that a permanent resident of Paphos may be involved in the case. On the same day, the Paphos District Court issued an arrest warrant for the suspect and a search warrant for the house where he resides.

During the search, in the presence of the suspect's wife, physical evidence was discovered and seized: 4,705 euros, as well as gold-colored cufflinks and two copper-colored rings.

On Tuesday evening, the wife of the wanted criminal was arrested. During interrogation, she was presented with a number of charges. The investigation into the case continues.
