Due to Kataklysmos, roads will be closed in Cyprus

Several roads in Cyprus will be closed due to the Kataklysmos holiday in Larnaca, Paphos, and Protaras in the coming days. Police will take measures to regulate traffic for the safe movement of citizens during the celebration.

In Larnaca, from June 22 to June 24, and on June 26, the following roads will be closed:

  • Athinon Avenue and the surrounding roads in the Finikoudes area
  • King Paul's Street, from its intersection with Athinon Avenue to Zenonos Kitieos Street
  • Two lanes on Archbishop Makarios Avenue, from the intersection with Kostis Palamas Street to the intersection with Athinon Avenue, heading from the port to the Larnaca Police Headquarters

These same roads will also be closed on Friday, June 21, and Tuesday, June 25, from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM the following day.

Additionally, Athinon Avenue in Larnaca will be closed from 4:00 AM to 7:00 AM daily from June 22 to July 1 for post-holiday cleaning.

In Paphos, from June 21 to June 24, a section of Apostle Paul Avenue will be closed from the roundabout with Lida Street to the Paphos Medieval Castle. Also, part of Poseidonos Street from Jasonos Street to the Paphos Medieval Castle.

In Famagusta, on Sunday, June 23, the road leading from Protaras Avenue to the public parking near Fig Tree Bay will be closed by the Paralimni Municipality to ensure the safe conduct of the holiday event.

It was previously reported that the Cyprus Police are taking enhanced measures ahead of the upcoming three-day Kataklysmos holiday, which will last from June 22 to June 24 in the country.
