Natural Trails in Troodos Closed Due to Landslides and Freezing Temperatures
The natural trails in the Troodos National Forest Park will be closed starting today until further notice due to freezing temperatures, snowfall, and the risk of landslides. Authorities have warned that using the trails in these conditions could be dangerous and may lead to disorientation.
According to an announcement from the Department of Forests, the following trails have been temporarily closed:
- Livadi Trail (circular), wheelchair accessible
- Artemis Trail (circular)
- Atalanti Trail (circular)
- Persephone Trail (linear)
- Caledonia Trail (linear)
- Psilo Dentro - Puziaris Trail (circular)
- Kato Amiantos - Lumata ton Aetos Trail (linear)
- Campos tou Livaidiou Trail (circular)
- Mnimata Piskopou Trail (linear)
- Kannooures - Agios Nikolaos Stegis (Kakopetria) Trail (linear)
- Fragma Prodromos - Stavroulia Trail (linear)
- Prodromos-Zoumi Trail (linear)
- E4 Trail (Troodos Region)
- Madari - Doxa soi o Theos Trail (linear)
- Tisia tis Madaris Trail (circular)
The Department of Forests has apologized for any inconvenience caused to the public and assured that further updates will be provided once the trails are safe and accessible again.
